Courchevel is the name of a ski resort located in the commune of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise in the French Alps, in the Tarentaise Valley, Savoie, Rhône-Alpes region. It is a part of Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world. Courchevel also refers to the towns of Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz), Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), and Courchevel 1850, which are named for their altitudes in metres. They are situated on the commune of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise. The resort centre of Courchevel is in fact at 1,747 metres (5,732 ft),.[1] The therefore somewhat misleading name Courchevel 1850 was chosen for marketing reasons to compete with arch rivals Val d'Isère. It is not the resort centre but the Jardin Alpin area of Courchevel 1850 which is actually located at 1,850 metres (6,070 ft).

Anyone who has skied in Courchevel will usually mention two things; the skiing is superb but it comes at a price. Whilst the skiing of the vast Trois Vallees is undeniably worth every euro, it is possible to ski here without taking out a second mortgage. It is a resort where you can fly into the tiny altiport and lunch at a two Michelin star restaurant; or you can arrive by coach and lunch on a €5 kebab.

Many visitors never bother leaving the village they are staying in, which is a shame as all 5 villages have their own distinct feel and differing facilities. The shuttle bus links between the resorts are very good as well, so getting around is quite easy. The ski area ranges from the lowest village (1260m) up to 3230m and much of the resort is ski in, ski out. Chambery is the nearest airport, 110 km away, but the snow train to nearby Moutiers is a popular choice.

When you're staying in the beautiful place Courchevel than you should definitely pay a visit to some other France places like Bordeaux or Nice. Bordeaux is the place where you can enjoy the sights and hang out in one of the nice restaurants. If you want to visit Paris do this at daytime, you'll find lots of hospitality bars, cafes and restaurants where you can dine like heaven, where you can meet nice and interesting people and where you can find lots of beautiful women. The women from Paris are very stylish and they all living the good life.
